Vision, Values & Mission

With a strong heritage of 85 years of educational excellence, Cranford House has a growing reputation as one of the UK’s leading small independent schools. We are proud to offer our pupils a modern education based firmly on traditional values and this forms the foundation of our Strategic Plan.

Our Vision

To ensure our pupils are happy, confident and motivated and that their self-belief, characterised by curiosity, resilience and a spirit of collaboration, inspires them to achieve at each stage of their individual learning journey.

To maintain our pupils’ excellent progress within a broad and challenging curriculum framework, which encompasses the traditional and the innovative, while establishing an enduring ethos for learning.

To equip our pupils for the challenges and opportunities of the modern world through an exciting programme of capital development and state of the art facilities.

To place Cranford House’s growing offer of a modern education, fit for the 21st century but based firmly on traditional values, at the heart of all our strategic planning.

To provide an innovative, opportunity-rich education, within a welcoming and nurturing community, which draws out the natural potential of each child.

Our Values

We have 5 core values which underpin everything we provide throughout the school. These values are:

Happiness

Confidence

Motivation

Challenge

Generosity of Spirit

Our Mission

“Per salicem ad alta”, our Latin motto, translating as “through the willow to the heights” uses our willow tree, sitting at the heart of the school site, to symbolise what a Cranford education is all about. It reflects our mission to motivate pupils to achieve in all aspects of their education with the happiness and confidence to challenge themselves and to dare to simply have a go!
